It’s that time of year again, and we’re getting ready for the wedding season already! We honestly cannot contain our excitement for this year!

With that said, the Wedding Fair will shortly be upon us, and this year we are ecstatic to meet new couples, execute a large list of new idea’s, and get a chance to use our new Lightrein light setup in a wedding atmosphere so we can produce some super dramatic shots!

Don’t get us wrong, we love natural light, and has always been our shooting style, nothing can match it, and it has a beautiful and very natural feel, however, there is something about controlled light at night that really can make images pop!

This years Wedding Fair will be held at the Roundup Centre on Sunday January 24th, 2010. Some details for those of you planning to attend.

Hello again everyone!

Over at Eternal Photography we’ve been quite busy with the Wedding season, and we have neglected to update our blog with our recent sessions, so here we go. A major attempt to make a few updates.

I would like to start the blog posting furry with an extremely great couple, Eric and Angela.

Eric and Angela are two very beautiful people, inside and out. They really made us feel welcome at their wedding. A bonus for us was having a tremendous amount of time for the formal picture shots, which really makes everything go so smoothly, so we thought we would try a few ‘out there’ shots with the sun bursts, and off camera flash with the rings. Another fantastic thing about this wedding, was that the Ceremony, and Reception were at the same location, so no running around, rushing from site to site.

The day started off with a nice little rain shower in the morning, and it almost looked like it was going to ruin our opportunity to take outside shots. Fortunately this wasn’t the case, after all, we do live in Calgary, and you know what they say (I know, you want to punch me right now..)  “If you don’t like the weather… wait 5 minutes.” Good thing there is actually some truth to that statement, because by the time the Ceremony rolled around at 3PM, the clouds had dramatically transformation from dark rain clouds, to a beautiful white fluffy look, with an ample amount of visible blue sky.

Angle had fantastic brides maids that we’re really into the photo shoot, and offered lots of great suggestions and idea’s they had.

Girls, I told you I wasn’t great with names, and I’m sorry that I lied to you. I’m HORIBLE with names! So my apologies. However, I can tell you all that you were all very beautiful, and any fool with a camera would have been able to capture your beauty, I just like to think we did it better

Groomsmen, I know you weren’t quite up for the picture thing as much as the girls were, but you have to admit, for being as hot as it was, and uncomfortable in those suites, you guys were stylin’ and the images came out fantastic.

What is there to say, Mikaila & Chris were a wonderful couple to photograph.  A smaller wedding of 35, with immediate family.

Having the privilege to shoot such an intimate wedding was a treat for us.  Everyone was outgoing and excited to have their photos taken!  When people enjoy having their photos taken, it makes it so much easier to capture their very special day.

Hello again!

I would like to share some pictures from the Sean and Zainul wedding that Eternal Photography had the pleasure of shooting.

Sean and Zainul recently received job opportunities over sea’s, and decided to get married with friends and family, before they left.

With a small venue, and very great work from Sean, he was able to get us access to shoot in two very unique places in Calgary, that are not very well known.

Their reception had taken place at the Deane House, where we had started the photo shoot. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t 100% on our side. When it came time to take pictures outside a very strong cold wind arose quite quickly. (very unfortunate as it was a beautiful day, up till that point..)

The next place on the agenda was the Calgary Art Gallery, which turned out to have fantastic lighting, and very beautiful artistic views.

Sean and Zainul are a beautiful couple. We sharing a lot of laughs, and had a very great photography experience with them. It was great not having a rushed venue for a change, and was very nice to be able to interact with the couple, and get to know them on a personal level.

Ned and Vera, an awesome couple that just seemed to be made for one another. Where one is weak, the other is strong. This is no doubt due to how strong each family background is, and how wonderful their family’s interact together. Always laughing, enjoying the moment, and loving life!

Everyone in the family was great to work with, very enthusiastic, loved to get their pictures taken, and even went as far as striking a pose for the occasion.

Vera, your an amazing woman. Watching you keep everything together during the wedding, and having everything so perfectly planned made the day very enjoyable. (even though you mentioned your nerves a few times, you pulled through with style!) We wish you two the best in life, and a future full of adventure and happiness together.

Ned, as with most men, towards the end of the night, I believe you were done with the picture taking, and just wanted to relax! (rightfully so too). Poor Ned had already endured 12+ hours of picture taking!  So to you Ned, I thank you for hanging in there and giving your wife these special memories to cherish for a lifetime. I know we appreciated your patience, and I’m sure looking back on it, it really wasn’t that bad was it . (insert I told you so comment here)
