It’s that time of year again, and we’re getting ready for the wedding season already! We honestly cannot contain our excitement for this year!

With that said, the Wedding Fair will shortly be upon us, and this year we are ecstatic to meet new couples, execute a large list of new idea’s, and get a chance to use our new Lightrein light setup in a wedding atmosphere so we can produce some super dramatic shots!

Don’t get us wrong, we love natural light, and has always been our shooting style, nothing can match it, and it has a beautiful and very natural feel, however, there is something about controlled light at night that really can make images pop!

This years Wedding Fair will be held at the Roundup Centre on Sunday January 24th, 2010. Some details for those of you planning to attend.

We believe every photographer has at least one special picture from every shoot. A picture they go back to multiple times during post production. A picture they add to their portfolio, and share through photo blogs and social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

This special picture could be anything. A waterfall, portrait you took on your iPhone, a flower or even a frying pan…. what?   It really doesn’t matter what it is. There is just something about that picture that makes it special to you.

There are obviously an infinite amount of reasons why a picture could be special but we can say for sure that one of the most common reasons is having a story or memory to the picture.

An example is young Bronwyn below, playing with her dad’s shiny blackberry.

This picture was taken moments after a new e-mail arrived causing the blackberry to vibrate and make a sound.

Bronwyn’s reaction was sudden shock, then a natural? instinct to hand the phone back to her dad. A very cute moment indeed.

Now this picture has a story behind it, that we will always remember.

A photo shoot with Ryan and Helen on Sunday.

It really wasn’t a planned thing, and there’s a story to this. We have all been trying to get together ever since their Wedding to trash Helen’s dress. A year later, and we still haven’t gotten together due to Ryan travelling and me being a workaholic. There.. I said it.

So this Sunday was opened, I was caught up on everything, Ryan and Helen we’re free, so we did a portrait session in the back alley’s of Inglewood. There just wouldn’t be enough time, or preparations to trash the dress, but it’s always fun to get out and shoot.
